In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and prospecting investment firms (hedge funds, mutual funds, family offices, venture capital and private equity), investment banks (investment banking and M&A), government offices, academia and technology startups - developing meaningful client relationships over time.

ETR+ SALES


Our credo is that opinions only exist due to a lack of data. It is imperative that you not only have a thorough understanding for the delta insights we are generating but also a passion for the space, our approach, and our mission.

You will begin your career in our one month data bootcamp where you will learn the past and status quo of how this industry operates, and how, alternatively, we source, model and disseminate the most disruptive trends in enterprise technology. Our rigorous training program will provide you with an understanding of how ETR achieves a new class of research for the largest investment funds in the world.

You will gain intimate insight into all aspects of the financial markets - economic principles, market players and asset classes - in addition to the robust functionality and analytical tools the ETR+ Terminal has to offer. At the completion of the program, you will have a solid understanding of what we are doing, our platforms, and how to communicate our value proposition and retention services to our current and prospective clientele.

 

You’ll then join our sales team, utilizing all of ETR’s tools and platforms to delve into a highly data-driven sales strategy to acquire, activate, retain, and develop leaders in finance and tech.

ROLE SCOPE

 

  • Work with the Director of Research and Head of Sales & Service to develop an effective sales approach and strategy

  • Prospect, acquire and retain clients on the ETR+ Terminal  

  • Assist in the development of sales materials and client presentations for meetings, workshops, and targeted marketing campaigns (in collaboration with the Growth team)

  • Work in collaboration with the Office Manager to help schedule meetings for planned trips to different cities

  • Work in collaboration with the Head of Sales & Service to get feedback from clients on recent projects to better understand individual account/client needs and support implementation of new measures to drive satisfaction

  • Provide various client support

  • Handle monthly reporting requirements and administrative functions

  • Log interactions with clients and prospects in our CRM along with triggers for when subsequent follow-ups should occur

  • Develop a working knowledge of the enterprise technology industry

  • Understand competitive landscape of research in this space

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • 2-4 years of sales, business development, banking, business consulting and/or account management experience, with a proven ability to execute (meet and exceed sales targets)

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four year university

  • Broad base knowledge of the sales process from lead generation to relationship management

  • Excellent communicator capable of handling high-profile clients

  • Ability to think creatively, work independently, collaborate heavily across teams, and focus on opportunities for growth

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Experience selling in or to the financial industry is highly desirable

  • Experience in selling data-driven products

  • Understanding of financial analysis and/or enterprise technology

  • Comfortable using: Ipreo (formerly Big Dough), Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, LinkedIn Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook)

  • Ability to fit into a high-growth, data-driven entrepreneurial culture that requires teamwork, wearing lots of hats, and interaction with engineers and data scientists
